We asked president Yujiro Ota about why the company has chosen us for
so many years and about our products and support framework.

Established in 1995 as a Thai outpost of KATSUYAMA FINETECH Co., Ltd., KATSUYAMA FINETECH THAILAND CO., LTD. is located near Bangkok, where major automotive manufacturers have begun opening bases, and produces parts such as automatic seatbelt and steering column components for these manufacturers. This outstanding technology is now a fixture among manufacturers in the area, and KATSUYAMA FINETECH THAILAND is indispensable to its Japanese parent company.

Tell us why you've chosen AMADA ORII (and what used to be Oriimec) for so many years.

AMADA ORII's levelers and other products have a high level of precision that we can rely on.

"The fact that AMADA ORII specializes in automated press machining equipment provides peace of mind, as does the fact that you are a Japanese company. In March 2018, we bought a leveler from AMADA ORII for our 500t presses. Its straightening performance is outstanding, and our Thai staff have expressed that using it is stress-free. When it came to purchasing a 200t automatic servo, there was no doubt in our minds that it had to come from AMADA ORII, and when we purchased a 400t press in 2019, only AMADA ORII would do.
We had already had a long history with AMADA ORII in Japan, but what really stands out in my mind is the way you have come through for our Thai company on occasions such as the severe flood damage we experienced in 2011. Your Chinese plant produced new levelers for us extra quickly, and I will never forget the all-encompassing, positive response we received from you."

STORY

I remember what a difficult time that was for you. Tell us more about the damage you experienced during the flooding in Thailand.

our levelers working again without a hitch, and I don't remember ever having problems with levelers in Thailand.

"That flooding was terrible. At around 6:00pm on October 8, 2011, a river embankment collapsed and water flowed over the sandbags and gradually entered our plant. In 5-6 hours, the water was up to our ankles. At that point, we knew we couldn't keep it out and left the plant. When we returned in 2-3 weeks, the water was about three feet deep—it was like a lake. It took almost a month and a half for all of the water to drain out, and then my two Thai-based Japanese colleagues and I had to deal with the insurance, arrange a new place for production and get the factory ready for recovery. We bought rubber boots and sanitizer and got to work cleaning up. The presses and levelers were all ruined, and when we tried to get them repaired or buy new ones, we found that many of the factories in the area had been damaged too and the repair companies couldn't help us because they were run off their feet.
We knew that if we didn't get the factory operating again, we could lose our jobs, so we negotiated as hard as we humanly could and our Thai staff all went above and beyond. And through it all, the AMADA ORII sales rep visited with a hard hat on, got all the details of our schedule and communicated closely with us about making machinery at your Chinese plant and delivering it to us. Thanks to you, we got our levelers working again without a hitch, and I don't remember ever having problems with levelers in Thailand."

AMADA ORII's service quality and response are also outstanding.

"You have a Thai company, AMOT, and it's clear that they really know what they're doing. AMADA ORII's service quality and response are also outstanding. I think the services themselves are provided by Thai people, and you can see that same Orii spirit.
And when it comes to building a relationship with reps, with other companies when a new sales rep is assigned to us, there's often a total change of gears, whereas AMADA ORII's reps keep things consistent. I feel like I can relax in the knowledge that our AMADA ORII rep will take care of every last detail."
